Pastor Edwin Murray has been active in ministry for 25 years. He has been an ordained pastor for 13 years, receiving his diploma from Rhema Bible School, as well as receiving his counseling training and certificate from the American Association of Christian Counselors. Pastor Murray and his wife Sheri founded Open Door Ministry, a 501c3, in 1999 as a ground-breaking and innovative ministry operating out of one of the country’s largest and successful malls, Fairlane Town Center in Dearborn Michigan. With over 2000 square feet of store space, Open Door Ministry operated over 70 hours each week with unique programs, services and activities targeting teenagers and families in the mall. This unique ministry attracted attention from around the country as people came and offered their talents and services in this unique setting and opportunity.

Keeping with its unique approach and favor from God, Open Door Ministry established mentorship programs in the Detroit Public Schools, conducted as a regular class during school hours for the last 6 years. This unique opportunity to share life-changing principles to young people in school has produced exciting results. Cerveny Middle School four years ago was rated one of the worst schools in Detroit and was on the verge of being shutdown. Open Door Ministry began the mentorship program with the support of the staff and principal, and last year Cerveny was ranked in the top schools in Detroit.

Open Door Ministry founded the Michigan Tournament of Charities golf fundraiser. This highly successful annual fundraising event has raised over $750,000 in the last few years for local charities and ministries.

Pastor Edwin Murray is also founder and president of In Pursuit L.L.C., which is a consulting and publishing company. Pastor Murray has written and published eight of his own books including the curriculum used by the Detroit Public Schools in the mentorship program. In Pursuit, established a seminar and conference forum called “Living the Dream”, which teaches, inspires and provides opportunity for people to find fulfillment and success in their lives. In Pursuit also consults with small businesses, particularly in the realm of sales and marketing.  Pastor Murray works with business owners to develop their business plans and assist in the evaluation and execution of their objectives.

Pastor Murray gained much of his successful experience from his 24-year career in the automotive industry. Having earned his degree in engineering, he worked his way through the ranks of management to become a prominent account manager responsible for over $500 million dollars in annual sales and also received two patent awards.

Perceiving a great need in America for financial direction, Pastor Murray has added to his life’s purpose financial education. Seeing that most Americans are in financial crisis, Pastor Murray has begun helping families save money, plan for retirement and get out of debt. He is licensed in investments, insurance and financing, which provides the tools necessary to change the destiny of people’s lives.

Pastor Murray and his wife Sheri have been married 19 years and have two wonderful children, Haylee and Noah. Pastor Murray’s family is his inspiration in fulfilling his destiny.
